Parent/Guardians and Members, The Secretary has of late been receiving several enquiries regarding when the club might be recommencing activities. We are at the moment making approaches to Aireborough Leisure Centre and Leeds Active asking what their requirements and needs would be to allow the swimming club to operate in a safe and Covid secure way bearing very much in mind the health and safety of swimmers and pool side and other helpers. Also to keep in mind is that some helpers are of a certain age and may not be prepared to put themselves at risk. We also need to know how many lanes would be available and how many swimmers would be allowed in each lane, sufficient to enable the club to be able to pay the substantial pool hire charges. Please be assured that as soon as we receive the necessary details and requirements from the Leisure Centre the committee will consider any action the club will need to take to enable us to recommence activities in a safe and secure way for swimmers, helpers and parent/guardians at the earliest opportunity. We must remember that the health of everyone is of paramount importance. I should also say that I have not heard of any other LOCAL swimming club starting up as yet. We will keep you all informed as things develop. ASC President
